I recently saw this on LinkedIn and had to comment. This is the way that I have always looked at hiring new people even though many of my colleagues have frowned on my approach. I meet people, talk to them about their hobbies and various other non work related things and try to develop an overall opinion.
I ask myself “Would I want to work with this person? Do they have a can do attitude? Are they fun? Do they live life?”
If the answer to the questions is generally “Yes”, that is a good sign that they will be a good fit in your organization.
A winning team can accomplish anything! The flip side of that statement is also true. A dysfunctional team can have the best product in the world and loose everything.
